Thomas Breitsameter (Violin) and
Janusz Myschur (Accordion)

… present as a Duo “as time goes by”, a musical Panopticon with hits and evergreens from over 70 years of salon- and popular music.

The repertoire of the two musicians comprises French “Musette-Waltz”, foxtrot, tango fiery and well-known jazz standards, movie themes and music of global success.

The rather rare occupation “violin and accordion” is truly poised to plunge uncontrollably with the Capri-Fishermen in the shallows of the genre, in the “Rue la Rose” to the virtuosity of French “Musette-Waltz” to trace and to dream with deep tango drunken melancholy from the Lake Maggiore. In the famous tune of “As Time Goes By”, from the film classic “Casablanca”, memories of Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman awake.

Salonmusik – a relict of past times? We focus on early 20th century salon music.

Where salon music is played, one talks, laughs, puts compliments and is happy about one’s existence.”- this is what music critic wrote about the popular music of the late 19th century.

But today’s entertainment industry is no longer interested in the musical relics of the fine aristocratic and bourgeois salons of the second half of the 19th century, the coffee houses at the beginning of the 20th century or the Ufa-time with their evergreens of audience appeal. And who – except the fans – already know that we differentiate between salon orchestras in Vienna, Berlin and Paris cast, who knows even the largely forgotten composers, who eke out a shadowy existence in the lexical works of music history?
